Max Planck-Yonsei IBS Center
Max Planck-Yonsei IBS Center (MPYIC) for Nanomedicine Deep Tissue Control is a joint initiative of the Max Planck Society (MPG), and the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) at Yonsei University in Korea.
We will implement an interdisciplinary research program of nanoscience, synthetic biology, and neuroscience to lay the foundations for wireless interrogation and control of cellular processes deep inside tissues in vivo with molecular-level precision. Key missions of the MP-YIBS Center are to establish a global nanomedicine hub and to train the next generation of scientists combining the strengths of MPG, Yonsei University, and IBS.

Mission & Vision

Enable scientific cooperation
and exchange of mutual expertise
in nanoscience, synthetic biology, neuroscience, and medicine.

Establish the fundamentals
required to advance the field of
deep tissue control by developing and using new tools with the potential for molecular-level precision.

Train young researchers
and provide an international environment combining
the strengths of both partners.
